One Hundred and fifty years ago, things were very different. There were no cranes or diggers - just men with pick-axes, shovels and muscles. But change was coming. The expanding railway network brought with it better materials and new technology presented larger, improved equipment – the construction industry never looked back. The war years saw huge demand for our services, in building defences, converting factories and modifying buildings all over the West Country and national service meant the labour force had to be replaced with ingenuity and extra hard work. Qualities that are still with us to this day, in fact. Look back to our brochure from 1920- we state that our aim is to uphold the best traditions of true craftsmanship and maintain the high standard of efficiency practices by the firm since its formation.
